This is a Valentine’s Day inspired shoot that a few vendors and myself collaborated for recently.
The goal was to go for a subtle Valentine’s day wedding (how fitting is it that Feb. 14th, 2015 falls on a Saturday?) with bright pops of red as an accent. It was important to us that we depicted a slightly darker, more mature version of Valentine’s day. We wanted something romantic, ethereal, and intimate and found the perfect spot in a nature preserve in Dallas that had thorns and brambles to complete the look. It also brought to mind Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty but I digress.
We used red pops in the cushions that accented the table, florals, invitations, flowers for the cake, lipstick, bride’s hair – yes, that is a real, giant, beautiful peony! – and other aspects like the bouquet and boutonniere. Watters, the dress designer, provided the bridesmaids’ outfits and the amazing bridal gown that has not been photographed before for any shoot until now.
This wedding was featured in Magnolia Rouge.
