I was so honored when our good friend Allen of Allen Tsai Photography asked me to help plan his baby shower. Both he and his lovely wife, Pat, adore animals and they have two dogs that they absolutely love. I really wanted to hone in on that affection and tie that into the shower in an elevated way. Plus, this means that their baby girl will have to love animals as much too right?
That being said, we decided on blush, pinks, gold and gray as the color palette.
To bring this theme to life, I spray painted animal figurines gold. The animals were then strung together with fishing wire to make a backdrop. Larger animal figurines were spray painted to highlight the tables. The animal theme was reflected on the cake with gold silhouettes as well.
Elephants, polka dots and stripes were incorporated into the banner, and we had elephant confetti in blush and gray to complement everything else.
I also created poms in various shades of pink and gold and white to hang. But, all of this was tied in with patterned straws and plate ware to pull everything together. We also had hydrangeas and roses in gold mercury vases. For this casual shower, we also had a chip and dip bar for guests to enjoy, and various games for this co-ed shower.
Anna Smith Photography is wicked fast by the way and had captured these memorable images of the day. Such a fan of her work! Sugar Bee Sweets also created one beautiful watercolor cake, desserts and macarons. Those macarons didn’t last two minutes!
