Victoria and Brent were married in an intimate wedding at the Venue at 400 North Ervay. We’ve met a lot of laidback couples having been in the industry for a few years now, but this duo resides in our top 5! Both were simply happy to be married and wanted a celebration of their union.

A way to stay on budget for a wedding is to prioritize on what’s important and spend accordingly. For the bride, a lush floral setup reminiscent of a garden was a non-negotiable, and Abelia Floral Studio delivered beautifully. Aisle flowers were then repurposed as the perimeter of the dance floor during cocktail hour (another great way to stay within budget is to always think about repositioning items within the wedding).

One advantage of a smaller wedding is having an easier time dealing with logistics. Victoria absolutely loved the rooftop in the venue and wanted to have both ceremony and reception there. Because there were 50 guests, moving everyone to the 5th floor for a cocktail hour before returning to see the reception transformation was a lot smoother than say, a wedding with 200 (as there is one elevator to get up there!).

Pro tip: when you are selecting a wedding venue, keep the flow of your big day in mind and imagine guests having to move from one area to another. Is the path straightfoward or is it tricky? Will they be able to find it naturally or would assistance be needed? Although thinking about these aspects may not be the most fun, it does pay off big time when it’s time to execute.
