I felt so connected to Bergan and Andrew the moment we met. It was so apparent that this couple loved each other and had personalities meant for the other.

They were excited to be married and it showed. Their tastes were similar and both share such a love for books (like The Hobbit) and reading that it was a no-brainer to place those elements in their big day. We started from scratch – from finding the venue to planning a design and executing a day to remember. If you look at the images below, you’ll see that old books were stacked on top of each other as part of the centerpieces.

There were countless details to this wedding that were lovingly crafted from friends and family. Bergan’s mother, Karen is an incredibly talented lady and together with her father, created so many items for this wedding that were unbelievably meaningful. For instance, they made the arbor that the couple were married under.

They also built the white picket fence that surrounded the gelato cart so it tied more into the theme.

 

Her friends made a quilt stitched together with her wedding colors that also had meaningful passages from Lord of the Rings in it!

They also delicately hand crafted were the beautiful bridal bouquets and boutonnieres.

Now usually I’m a little wary when one tells me about all the DIY they want to do for their wedding since 80% of the time it turns out differently from what Pinterest states. Not this time! They knocked this out of the park!

This is one of my favorite weddings that we have planned not just due to all the special touches that was just so unique to the couple but also because their families were so genuine and kind as well! So much love went into pulling this wedding together and on the day itself an outpouring of joy and celebration for Bergan and Andrew!

Brant Smith did an exceptional job capturing the emotions on this day – by the way, let me add that what would typically be a scorching July day in Dallas turned out to have cool, breezy weather as if it were still May!

Richard from the Potter’s Touch did phenomenal work by putting flowers into antique teapots. To match the vintage look, we got mismatched China from Rent My Dust and paired it off with colorful napkins to balance it all out.

At the end of the night,  the groom changed into a kilt as a nod to his Scottish heritage and lavender was thrown at them to end the night!

We seriously had a dream team of vendors and the day couldn’t have gone more smoothly.
