For this post, I’m excited to be sharing another stunning wedding that Stephanie coordinated for Keestone Events. This time, it’s for this classy duo, Jeannette and Brent at the beautiful Dallas Museum of Art.
We actually have a rich Arts District in Dallas, and I’m always thrilled whenever one of our couples decides to incorporate one of the museums to be a part of their wedding. The DMA is impressive with its soaring ceilings and modern, clean lines. To bring about a sense of intimacy to this grand space, the couple chose to bring some of the outdoors in with organic centerpieces and garden style arrangements. Keeping the colors in a neutral palette with pops of gold was perfect against the colored floral glass display in the background.
One way any wedding can be made to stand out is to incorporate meaningful details into the celebration, from jewelry to dress and centerpieces. It’s also important to remember to bring your invitation suite so it can be photographed to tell a cohesive story!
It was a lovely day, and you can see the joy radiated on the bride and groom’s faces throughout! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.

How did you meet?
We first met on Match.com. I (Jeannette) was perusing one night through the profiles, and Brent’s dog, Dozer’s little face stood out… and his owner wasn’t bad looking either. I commented on his picture, saying that I wanted to squish his face. He replied with a long email introducing himself and Dozer. From there, emails turned in to long phone conversations, and finally, a first date. Two weeks after first meeting, I went to Peru for a full month, not really knowing what would happen. During that time, the long conversations didn’t stop (sometimes it was just making faces at each other over face time, because the internet connection was so bad) and we grew closer despite the distance. When I returned, it was as if no time had gone by. The rest is history.
What is your proposal story?
Brent told me that a couple of our friends were in town and wanted to grab dinner. A proposal was definitely the furthest thing from my mind that day as I scrambled to get ready after oversleeping a nap. We met our friends as planned, but when they opened the door to the restaurant, all I saw was flashes of light and people yelling. I looked over and saw my best friend, who now lives in Pennsylvania, our parents from Missouri and Michigan, and our loving friends from Texas, all there. He asked me to marry him in front of friends and family and of course I said yes!
Tell us a bit more about your wedding in terms of style, location, vision, etc.
Brent and I first and foremost wanted an intimate wedding with an outdoor ceremony. The outdoor space of the Dallas Museum of Art was perfect for this and it had a beautiful sculpture garden that we could take pictures in. In order to keep with the theme of the modern garden, we brought in peonies, garden roses, succulents, king proteas, and eucalyptus in to our bouquets, boutonnieres and center pieces.
Tell us about your attire choices:
I wanted a simple, “ethereal” dress to go with the garden theme. The bridesmaids all chose their own dresses and were a mix of beading, patterns, and solids of all variations of a soft pink. Brent wanted a sleek, modern heather grey suit and we matched the groomsmen’s suits to his.
What was the most important thing to the both of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on?
First, it was really important that we had a great venue with an outdoor space to get married that would accommodate a wedding of about 100 people without having the wedding itself feel too small. We splurged on food and a great photographer that would capture our memories for a lifetime. We skipped the fancy limo and opted for an Uber black, but our hotel and after party were across the street from the museum so it really wasn’t necessary.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Definitely seeing all of our friends and family in one room dancing and having a great time together, but to be honest, the whole day is so awesome.

Bride and bridesmaids bouquet: peonies, garden roses, succulents, king proteas, and eucalyptus
Groom: succulent and mini protea
Groomsmen: eucalyptus and garden roses
Can you share more detail about your wedding cakes?
We had 3 cakes designs and two different flavors: raspberry champagne and red velvet. We wanted to keep it simple but different, so there was a spatula cake, naked cake, and one cake with small dots, all in white with similar flowers from the bouquet used.
What were your wedding favors?
We wanted to incorporate Texas so we got cowboy boot bottle openers.
Please describe any DIY or personal details
I designed my own invitations and all the inserts with the help of my friend who is a graphic designer (Christine Abrego) and did the calligraphy myself for the addresses. Lettering classes go a long way… I highly suggest them for any bride!
What advice do you have for other couples?
It’s totally doable to plan your wedding in 6 months. If you’re on a budget, stick with the few things that are the most important to you; everyone will great a time regardless of how much you spend on your linens. Great food, great booze, great people… don’t stress.
What most helped you in your planning process, and / or on your wedding day?
Excel spreadsheets and a day/month of wedding planner are key.
