The Knot Dallas Market Mixer

SHARE STORY:

When The Knot reached out to Keestone Events to plan their annual Dallas mixer (held in the Westin Dallas, Downtown), let’s just say honored was an understatement. These people are surrounded by pretty weddings on a daily basis so for them to completely entrust the design and concept to us was the biggest compliment.

You can also see a video of the whole day here, courtesy of Folklore Media Lab.

Essentially, this mixer was to be broken into two portions – a short speech and Q&A session with brides earlier in the day, followed by networking with fellow industry peers later on in the night.

High tea seemed like a natural and fun way for brides to be in a comfortable environment. Who doesn’t like an excuse to inhale carbs and light bites? We then teamed up with other peers in the events space to bring our vision to life. I really wanted to work with solid professionals I could trust and they did not disappoint.

I also wanted for attendees to feel completely involved and that’s where beauty bars came into play with both a lipstick and braid bar. Getting glammed up is always fun and guests could then walk on over to a floral backdrop to take pictures.

A highlight for me was getting to speak at the Q&A session. Emily from Propmaker, Elizabeth from Lizzie Bees and yours truly made an appearance onstage and participated in a dialogue with attendees. There’s a rare picture taken of me depicted above. I’m usually behind-the-scenes so it felt strange to be in the spotlight for once!

After that segment was over and the networking began, the tables pre-set with tea and sandwiches was quickly flipped to present a whole new tablescape. Guests were then able to sample the (delicious) food that the Westin prepared, along with dessert. To encourage industry peers to let loose, we brought in professional dance instructors to perform, and had them teach those who were feeling brave to dance. One of the most fulfilling moments of the event was seeing vendors who arrived later on dance well after the mixer had ended!

Here’s an image of (most) of the vendors who sponsored the Market Mixer. Thank you, thank you to this wonderful team!
