I have been wanting to write a post like this for a while now, yet have been holding off because it seems like a heavy topic and we are in the business of planning lighthearted weddings and celebrations.

That said, I do think it’s important not just to showcase the cheerful aspect of our business but also the values and priorities that are important. It’s what builds on the culture of the company and gives us a mission to work towards as well.

There are a plethora of positive adjectives out there and we could easily say that these all apply to Keestone Events. However, after a lot of thought, we have boiled it down to four main traits that we highly value in our team of event planners and assistants.

1. Integrity
2. Resourcefulness
3. Reliability
4. Relatability

As a boutique business, it’s integral that each member in our team possess these qualities in order to successfully plan and execute events. If you think about it, each of these characteristics are crucial when hiring a planner as you will be spending weeks, if not months with us!

Another aspect that I have been reflecting over for a while now is stewardship. In a nutshell, it’s an idea that represents responsible planning and management of resources. Our environment has been something I have been feeling increasingly called upon to help with, from recycling to using less plastic. When a client works with us, we try and minimize our usage of paper and rely mostly on technology. This has resulted in benefits that have also helped transform our business by streamlining our processes, made life easier for clients while minimizing our footprint.

This isn’t to say we are fanatical where we storm out of a restaurant if they have styrofoam boxes for takeout. On my end, I am trying to be more mindful about these things when before, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. While a lot more can always be done, it’s a start I’m happy with.
