Brittany + Nate had such a fun wedding at Union Station in Dallas filled to the brim with details unique to not only their cultures but their personalities as well!
Instead of the typical guestbook, they opted for a custom-made beer pong table. This couple bonded over drinking games and parties back in college (did we mention they are a blast?) and wanted to incorporate something that their friends and families knew right away was “them”. This was such a hit at the wedding since all their friends had signed Brittany’s DIY beer pong table at her parents’ place and it was a nice nod to that tradition. There were also custom-made Uno cards given out as favors.
Brittany’s parents are English and Indian respectively, and those cultures were incorporated through their food choices from Wolfgang Puck. They served lamb pani-puris, beef wellingtons, biryani, and Yorkshire pudding to name a few. There was also a chai bar with digestive biscuits that guests flocked to. They also had a Hindu ceremony which was more formal the day before.
We also had this wedding live-streamed so guests who could not fly in due to the pandemic were able to view comfortably at home.
Another custom aspect that was built out were walls that a pattern of watercolor drips. In the middle of the wall was a neon sign with the couple’s names that served as a photo backdrop. Flanking that were shelves that were utilized throughout the entire day. Before the ceremony began, those shelves were filled with champagne flutes that guests could help themselves to as a refresher before the ceremony began. During cocktail hour, those shelves housed place cards and as guests left for the night, the custom UNO cards were spread out there.

Nate and I actually attended the same school from grades 4-12, however, while we were cordial, we were definitely not friends during that time. We had a lot of mutual friends though so we would see each other during holidays as people got together when everyone was back in town. This is from our website: Did you date in high school?… is easily one of the questions we get asked most. Yes, we went to school together for nine years, no we didn’t date in high school. To that point, we didn’t even talk in high school. Somehow, in a small school with a tight-knit community, we barely spoke one word to each other in those nine years.
It wasn’t until college, while everyone was back in Dallas for the holidays, when a mutual friend brought Nate to one of Brittany’s famous house parties. The two quickly realized they had found kindred spirits in each other with their love for party games. Nate earned his way onto the invite list from then on and Brittany was happy he introduced some creative, new games that she could take back to Lehigh. They continued to see each other whenever Brittany hosted a party and soon learned they had another common interest: the Dallas Mavericks.
We wanted elegant, timeless, colorful, yet we wanted it to be laid-back and fun, like us. Because our Hindu ceremony was more intimate, low-key and religious, we wanted our western ceremony and reception to really have a fun vibe. We also wanted our wedding to be unique and memorable for our guests. We really wanted everyone to feel welcome and comfortable. It was also important to us that our families and close friends felt included in the ceremonies and reception.
Our advice would be to definitely work with a planner and think about your interests and personalities as a couple. Working with Sarah at Keestone Events made every step of the process easy and stress-free, even after postponing due to Covid. We loved bouncing ideas off of her and whenever we suggested something, she was able to find a way to make it work and an amazing vendor to make it happen. Sarah also helped us hone in on our vision and find unique opportunities to showcase our interests and personalities. I really felt like her questions and suggestions helped us have a wedding that only we could have, not a “cookie-cutter” wedding.
Our guest book was a custom-made beer pong table. Because Nate and I bonded over drinking games and parties, we knew we wanted to incorporate some of that into our wedding–in a classy way. Our friends LOVED seeing this touch at our wedding because they’ve all signed our DIY beer pong table at my parents house.
One of my maids of honor is a baker and made our beautiful three-tiered cake. Because my dad is from England and my mom is from India, and Nate loves food from both cultures, we tried to incorporate both sides into the food. We served lamb pani-puris and mini beef wellingtons as hors d’oeuvres, and vegetable biriyani and Yorkshire puddings at dinner. We also had a chai bar complete with digestive biscuits. Our dog Carmen was featured on stir sticks, the groom’s Mavericks themed cake, and our custom Uno deck favors.
Brittany’s favorite part of the day was getting up on stage with Intensity Band and singing Wannabe by the Spice Girls with my bridesmaids! I also loved seeing the dance floor from the stage and watching our closest friends and family having so much fun. Nate’s favorite part of the day was the private last dance to This Will Be An Everlasting Love by Natalie Cole. Intensity really brought the energy and helped to make the night SO memorable.
We had a Hindu ceremony the day before where I wore my mom’s wedding sari. It was so special to share that with her, especially because it just happened to work out that we got married on my parents’ 33rd wedding anniversary.
Below is the nicest review that Brittany left:
“Sarah and Keestone Events were truly the best people to work with! We met with a few wedding planners, but after meeting Sarah, we knew we had found the best planner for us! From the beginning of the process Sarah listened carefully and thoughtfully to our vision and suggested ideas. Her guidance and patience made us feel confident and completely relaxed about our big day. There was no ask too small or big for Sarah, and she always had a plan to resolve any unexpected bumps in the road.
When we postponed our wedding she handled everything and coordinated with all of our vendors which made that tough decision so much easier. She worked well with all of vendors and the whole day went off without a hitch. Our families commented on how kind and organized she was and they were so impressed with how smoothly everything went. The team she brought to help on the day of were supportive, professional, and fun to be around. I can’t recommend Sarah and Keestone Events enough—our wedding day would not have been as amazing as it was without her!”
