You may remember seeing previous posts about Thuy + Joe’s multi-day celebration that we planned in just three short months! Day one was the rehearsal dinner and day two began with a Vietnamese tea ceremony.
The ceremony and reception took place at The Olana. One of the main reasons the couple chose The Olana, was the gorgeous facade of the front of building! For the reception, Thuy + Joe wanted the ballroom of the venue to feel intimate, and almost like an overgrown greenhouse with clean and modern elements for contrast. To accomplish this, we had the florist very carefully attach greenery to the windows. Then, we brought in 20+ real trees, and had a trellis custom-built and covered in greenery. Lion dancers were brought in to introduce the couple to the reception, and it was a really fun surprise for guests!
After a four-course meal (Thuy+Joe created the menus!), guests headed outdoors to dance under the stars to the band, and ended the night with a lantern exit.
Fun fact: The Olana is home to a two-story closet that is based after the very first Chanel store! See if you can spot the iconic black and white tiles in the pictures.
