Our Dallas wedding planners were so fortunate to be a part of Natalie and Jeff’s glamorous wedding at the Rosewood Mansion. This duo has been in the food and beverage industry and if you’ve ever been a part of that, you know how chaotic it is so needless to say, we had the most understanding couple ever! One thing I noticed upon walking into their wedding was how many languages I was hearing, from French to Spanish to Lebanese and of course, English. Most of their guests had traveled to get there as they had lived in multiple places prior to settling in Dallas.
I’m so thrilled to say to that Natalie is now a part of Keestone Events! After her wedding was over, she reached out to see if there were any roles she could fill, and the rest is history! She has been one of the biggest blessings with her ability to catch on quickly, calm demeanor and did I mention she is lighting fast at setting up an event? After assisting with multiple weddings, having to troubleshoot random challenges that came up, and seeing the vendor side of things, she is now one of our planners 🙂
From the bride:
In 2009 I started working as a host at a brewery in Seattle. I noticed this cutie walking around who turned out to be a manager in training. After a few weeks of small talk, he was transferred to a different location. I was bummed! Over the course of the next year I would pop in and say hello. Then one day I decided that I would invite him to meet me and a few friends at a bar, and to my surprise, he showed up! About a week later he asked me out on a formal date to see Avatar in 3D at the Seattle Center, and the rest was history! We got engaged about 5 years later!
On a typical rainy Seattle day, Jeff took me back to the location of our first date. There was a music festival going on, so we walked around and watched the different bands play. A little bit later my parents and brother joined us. Jeff started getting super awkward and I immediately knew what he was up to! He took me to an open field right under the space needle and proposed with my family watching. I was a crying mess but obviously I said yes! It will forever be one of the most memorable days of my life!
I knew I wanted to have my ceremony and reception in the same venue and that we were going to have a lot of out of town guests, so a hotel seemed to be the best option. A lot of the hotels I toured had the ceremony space in a conference room type setting which I didn’t like. When I walked into the Mansion it just felt right! I could picture myself walking down the aisle in the promenade with the big beautiful windows and the gorgeous alter at the end. The Mansion also has a great reputation when it comes to food and hospitality so we knew that we wouldn’t have to worry about subpar food or service, which was a huge relief. They even made our cake which was delicious! They also provided really pretty house chairs and linens, a HUGE newlywed suite, and a getaway car! So just picking The Mansion as our venue scratched a lot of things off our to- do list. Jeff and I are also a sucker for anything with history and the Mansion has so much original charm which we loved!
Jeff and I are pretty laid back people so I knew that I didn’t want anything too structured or traditional. I did, however, still want it to be timeless. We ended up going with a romantic boho theme. I wanted something that didn’t seem too overly girly, but was pretty at the same time. And I wanted Jeff to like it as well! We both love deep reds and dark greens so it was the perfect compromise!
I always knew that everyone was going to look at me since I was the bride, but as someone that doesn’t try to be the center of attention, it was a pretty overwhelming moment. I had so many loved ones that made such a grand effort to witness our special day that I felt unbelievably blessed. And then there was seeing my handsome husband to be! Since we didn’t do a first look, walking down the aisle was an emotional moment. I was so happy that he chose me to be his wife, and though overwhelmed, I felt totally calm because I knew that Jeff was my person, and that the walk down the aisle was the start of our happily ever after.
My advice for future couples is to plan ahead! The more you can get done early the more you can relax throughout the process. We were so glad we picked our major vendors early because we had our pick instead of having to pick from what was left. And we were so happy with everyone that we ended up using!
