Emily and Aaron’s destination wedding in San Miguel de Allende is one we won’t be forgetting anytime soon. From the moment we arrived, the colors, the cobblestone streets, and the layered history of this city made it clear this weekend was going to be something special. Thereโ€™s a rhythm to this city layered with history, art, and warmth that makes you slow down whether you intend to or not.

Guests checked into Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende and were welcomed with gift bags. One of the things inside was a custom-designed newspaper outlining the weekendโ€™s events which helped set the tone.

We kicked things off with a rehearsal dinner gathering on the hotelโ€™s rooftop restaurant. The sun dipped behind the hills, the DJ eased into the evening, and cocktails made their way around as friends and family reconnected.

The next day brought a completely different energy.

Earlier in the day, the couple surprised their parents with gifts. Each was meaningful to them, but Emily’s gift to her mom pulled at our heartstrings. It was a sweet, sentimental one, and you can just see the surprise and how much it touched her in the images.

The ceremony was one of those destination wedding San Miguel de Allende moments that reminds you why couples choose to celebrate somewhere meaningful. It took place at the hotelโ€™s butterfly sculpture, where a custom stage and extended walkway transformed the courtyard into a fairytale ceremony setting. When Emily walked down that aisle, it was a moment.

Afterward, guests were guided to the reception, and this reveal was one of those moments planners live for. Overhead, strands of starlight created a soft canopy beneath a tented structure. The florals were vibrant and overflowing with color. There was an audible shift as guests walked in, taking it all in before finding their seats.

Dinner unfolded at an easy pace, with Barry, their dog making a handsome appearance via cocktail napkins (and in spirit!). Later in the evening, a bonfire lounge invited guests to settle in with a drink, and a live sketch artist quietly captured scenes from the celebration. It was festive without ever feeling forced, delicious food, generous pours, and good company. And in true considerate-host fashion, ballet flats were waiting for guests whose heels didnโ€™t quite make it to the dance floorโ€™s final hour!

The weekend wrapped with a rooftop brunch in another corner of the property. Sunglasses replaced formalwear, and a buffet spread with food stations replaced a plated meal. One thing they kept in line wit the rest of the weekend though, was an embrace of color, patterns and texture.

We always love seeing our couples step into married life. But when they are genuinely kind, it makes the celebration even sweeter. To Emily and Aaron.

We also had to share the kind words that Emily wrote about our team! We were on a high from it for days.

“I think we’d both heard a lot of stories about wedding planning being very stressful and difficult to manage. We really, really didn’t want that and thought that hiring a planner was going to go a long way towards helping us to enjoy the experience and minimize the stress. We also really wanted a destination wedding with multiple weekend events, so thought a planner could provide logistical, administrative, and creative support. We are so glad we hired a planner and even more pleased that we went with Keystone! You cannot go wrong with the Keestone team!

Pricing– Keestone is very easy to work with, flexible in terms of putting together a package that suits your needs, and the pricing is transparent and easy to understand. They were also a great resource for helping to set our expectations for pricing for various items (venue, catering, florals, etc.), which went a long way towards helping us stay within our budget. We also weren’t being constantly up-sold or pressured to spend more money.

Design Input– it’s easy to get overwhelmed by design choices. Tzahhia did a great job of listening to what we wanted and helping to make that design come to life. She always gave us a couple of options and was good at helping us troubleshoot possible issues or realize the consequences of choosing one option over another.

Contingency planning–Invariably, there will be a curveball or two thrown your way. Keestone will have a contingency plan not only in place, but executed almost as soon as the problem arises. They are calm, professional, diligent, and positive. The kind of people you want in your corner when you need to solve a problem in a pinch.

Wedding weekend– prior to the wedding, we had several calls to finalize plans and they made sure to get a sense of our wants and expectations ahead of time. Throughout the weekend, they were punctual, detail-oriented, and relaxed. We spent so much time curating the guest experience for our wedding and the Keestone team did a great job executing!

We have already recommended Keestone to several of our friends and will continue to do so. They have a wonderful team and were integral to helping us create such a magical weekend and so many wonderful memories.”
