Mikayla and Collin’s Lake Como wedding at Villa Erba was the kind of day that feels straight out of a fairy tale.
We started venue hunting once we knew the couple had their eyes on Lake Como, and hit the ground running, nay, sprinting at full speed with five flights, three cities, and nine venues in four days, in search of the right spot for the couple. Italy did not make this decision easy and there were many breathtaking locations.
After much deliberation, we settled with Villa Erba! Fun fact – this venue has been seen many times on film from Ocean’s Twelve to Murder Mystery to a music video with Gwen Stefani. The theme of their wedding was Bridgerton meets James Bond and it’s safe to say that the memo was met with its historical architecture and lush landscaping.
On the wedding day, the energy was building as the timeline unfolded. The morning began with an emotional first look between Mikayla and her father, followed by an intimate reveal between Mikayla and Collin. Shortly after, the couple slipped away for a private boat session on the water taking some time off to enjoy cruising on the lake.
Though the guest list was just 50, the celebration felt expansive. The layout and design transformed the space in a way that gave it presence and depth, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and grand. This is exactly what a Lake Como wedding should feel like, intimate and grand all at once.
Dinner was a true highlight with a paced multi-course experience, with speeches peppered throughout. Later, guests were surprised with a full dessert bar and surprise gelato cart on top of their massive wedding cake. No one left hungry that night!
Random note: sparklers in Italy are much shorter than what we’re used to in Dallas, so we had to time everything perfectly to ensure they didn’t burn out before the couple’s grand exit! To top it all off, they were surprised with an opera singer serenading them as they left the night behind. It was a truly beautiful day filled with unforgettable moments that we will look back fondly at for a very long time.
