Claudia + Ben had one beautiful wedding at The Dallas Arboretum. They had their ceremony at A Tasteful Place and reception right beside at Rosine Hall. Tzahhia was their planner, and below is more about the wedding in Claudia’s words:

 

Tell us about your love story – how did you meet?

We met when we were in college together at The University of Tulsa. Bens fraternity had a toga party we both attended (each of us with separate dates). We spent the entire party together, forgetting we came with other people! Our connection was immediate and we were so smitten with each other. The rest is history! That was 13 years ago!

 

What was your vision for the wedding?

We wanted a balance between a contemporary aesthetic while keeping elements soft and romantic. We knew from the start we were going to work around a neutral color palette. Tzahhia saw the vision I was describing to her and made it a reality for us!

What was your favorite part of the day?

The entire wedding ceremony. It was intimate, romantic and full of so much love. Our best friends and siblings were standing next to us, while my uncle married us in front of our parents, family and closest friends. Everyone was smiling and feeling the love! It was as close to a perfect moment as I can imagine!

 

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

We grew up with different religious backgrounds and wanted to include both Christian and Jewish elements in the wedding. We were married under a chuppah, a jewish wedding canopy that represents the home the couple will build. We also included a reading from the Old Testament that was special to Bens mom.

 

Were there any sentimental moments/ items incorporated to the wedding?

My dad passed away in 2016. He was such a big part of not only my life but Bens life as well. We both wanted to make his presence felt in a joyful way. My dad was a huge fan of jazz music, so we hired a jazz trio for our ceremony music and cocktail hour music. We had a memorial type table filled with his pictures and the pictures of our other family members no longer with us. Ben and I entered our reception to the song “Love Shack” by the B52’s because that was one of my parents favorite songs to sing and dance along to! We felt his presence all night long!

 

What advice do you have for other couples/brides-to-be?

Planning a wedding is going to be stressful at times, but try to find the moments where y’all can have fun together as a couple. Your wedding is such a precious life event, don’t get too worked up about the small stuff! If the budget allows, hire a wedding planner! Tzahhia was an angel sent to us- she kept everything organized and on track. The rehearsal and wedding ran so smooth, our guests were so impressed!
