We met lovely Kayla when planning for her then future sister-in-law, Elise, who got married just four months prior.

At Elise’s wedding, they had a unique twist on the gift exchange where Ben, her brother and Kayla (then his fiancé) played a large role in. Ben took Carl’s gift for Elise, while Kayla took Elise’s for Carl. From there, both Kayla and Ben met each other and exchanged those gifts. Then, with Elise’s gift in his hand, Ben brought it to Carl and vice versa. Well, at Kayla + Ben’s wedding, they reciprocated the gesture and the roles were reversed this time! There are the gestures that have a lot of symbolism behind it which make for some lovely memories.

A really fun family moment occurred on the dance floor at Kayla’s wedding at The Bowden. Her father is known for running to find a kitchen utensil to dance with any time “Bohemian Rhapsody” comes on and her wedding was no different. During planning, Kayla and her mom let Tzahhia in on this tradition and the plan was to surprise her dad with a giant whisk when the song played at the wedding. Little did we know, this is widely known by the family. So much so that on the wedding day, Tzahhia was approached by various members of the bride’s family (including her dad!), with different kitchen gadgets to bring out as a surprise! No one knew of each other’s plan until the time struck and the dance floor overflowed with blow-up guitars, kitchen utensils, and of course, the giant whisk was presented to Kayla’s dad to rock out with.

Kayla + Ben’s wedding was the first one we embarked on for 2020 (oh, if we only knew then what we know now!) and it was a truly lovely one to start off the year with. Below is the wonderful review that she left for Tzahhia:
