Dallas wedding planner send off

Megha and Avi are a couple that placed a lot of thought into making their wedding uniquely theirs, stamped with details every step of the way. One different thing the couple did was to have cocktail hour prior to the ceremony. This allowed guests to mingle, grab a drink and hors d’oeuvres before the ceremony began. This was a planner’s dream since everyone was already there and the ceremony started right on time.

They have been all over the world together, so a travel table was setup at their wedding, that displayed photos and keepsakes with little notes explaining each of the items. It was a fun way to share these experiences with their guests.

Food was also especially important to them. They had a “his and hers” theme the whole way through from a his and hers brie station, a family style meal with two of everything-two salads, two pastas, two entrees, two sides and two desserts. There was a beautiful wedding cake from Jenny Layne Bakery and ahis and hers grilled cheese late night snack. But that’s still not all! There were also cookies from Tiny’s cookies in Austin (that were brought up by Avi’s best man)-Avi is a serious cookie connoisseur so he had to have his favorite at the wedding, plus a coffee bar with custom decal from Nightowl Coffee. Guests did not go hungry at this wedding!

They wanted something a little different for their exit-we went with large bobo balloons on sticks for each guest to hold, they were stuffed with LED lights and white confetti which looked amazing in photos! This took our planning team about 4 hours to create on-site!

Tell us about your love story – how did you meet?

We met online at a time when no one was meeting anyone – right in the middle of the pandemic! Our first date was a Zoom date during which Megha taught the new Texan, Avi, how to make quesadillas. We couldn’t stop laughing throughout the 2.5 hour date! Once we finally met in person, we stuck to safe outdoor activities such as skydiving and paddle boarding, but within weeks, we were inseparable – we even moved in together after less than 3 months of knowing each other!

Getting Ready

What was your vision for the wedding?

We wanted a simple, classy, and elegant wedding that highlighted how much we cared about each other and about our friends and family.

What was your favorite part of the day?

Every part of the day was incredible, but our favorite part was the first look. Megha felt herself get choked up when she walked in and saw Avi waiting for her in his tuxedo and almost couldn’t even call his name! Avi was so excited to see Megha after the morning away from her. Everyone else in the room seemed to disappear. Once again, we couldn’t stop talking and laughing when we finally got to see each other again!

What unique elements or DIY details did you include?

We included photos and souvenirs from all of our travels, a his-and-hers menu with all of our favorite foods and desserts, our favorite cookies brought over from Tiny’s in Austin, a slideshow we made with a personal thank you to each of our guests, a same-day edit wedding video playing during the reception, personalized vows, and a recipe-for-love guest book because we love to cook and bake.

Were there any sentimental moments/items incorporated to the wedding?

We had tables set up with mementos from our travels and relationship, including photos, souvenirs, and gifts we gave each other. We also made a slideshow with a personal thank you to each of our guests and had it playing throughout the events. Megha wore her grandmother’s gold jewelry from India for the ceremony.

What advice do you have for other couples/brides-to-be?

On the day of the wedding, trust your wedding planner/vendors and enjoy every moment while letting go of anything unexpected that happens. Nothing will ever be perfect, but if you’re happy on your wedding day, everything will feel perfect!

The couple left Stephanie a glowing review:
“After phone interviews with multiple wedding planners, Keestone Events was hands down our top choice. We loved Sarah’s enthusiasm and honesty, but when we were paired with Stephanie due to her experience with fusion weddings, she was an even better fit for us. Her personality and working style are fantastic – she is positive, energetic, honest, insightful, responsive, understanding, and always very calm.

She led us through eight fun, relaxed months of planning, but most importantly, our wedding day was perfect, beginning to end, thanks to her. Our guests raved about every detail of the wedding and even about Stephanie. If the goal is to be as happy as possible on your wedding day, Stephanie will accomplish this for you.”
