Meet our featured couple, Laura and Cale! We knew right away that Stephanie was the perfect Dallas wedding planner to bring Laura’s vision to life. Stephanie said, “Laura and Cale were so fun to plan for and their families were great to work with. Laura knew exactly what she wanted from our first call. She wanted a timeless, elegant, outdoor garden wedding and that’s exactly what it was!”
Their stunning spring wedding took place at The Nasher Sculpture Center in downtown Dallas. Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe designed the most beautiful floral arrangements in white, blush and pops of blue. Florals lined the aisle during the ceremony and were repurposed to create a band facade for the band, Manhattan, during the reception. The altar pieces were also repurposed and used for the bridal party head table!
This wedding was memorable for many reasons, but what really stood out was the sentimental and personal touches incorporated throughout their special day, specifically the ceremony. From the minute you walked into the ceremony, you could feel the personalization. Picture this – next to Cole at the altar you see the officiant, Cale’s brother-in-law. As Laura walks down the aisle, she is carrying her beautiful family bible that all the women in Laura’s family have carried on their wedding day. After Laura and Cale exchange their vows, Cale is given his wedding band; the band his mother gave his father on their wedding day and they passed it down to Cale. Cue the tears!
Cheers to the happy couple, Laura and Cale!
We met the summer before our senior year of college at the University of Oklahoma.
My vision for the wedding was an elegant garden affair. I knew I wanted the whole evening to take place outside, so naturally Nasher Sculpture Center was a first choice. I loved the fact that I could have the secret garden vibes right in the middle of Downtown Dallas. We had to put a lot of faith in the weather, but I’m so glad we took that risk. Big risk, big reward. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening.
There were so many magical moments that day. I knew I was in amazing hands with Stephanie as our lead planner and I truly was in a state of bliss the entire weekend. Aside from marrying my best friend, my favorite part of the day was walking into the Nasher and seeing everything I had been picturing in my head for months truly come to life. I also loved that we kept our wedding on the more intimate side. We were able to celebrate with our guests while still having time for each other.
I did carry a family bible that all the women on my Mom’s side carried on their wedding day. We also glued a sixpence to my shoe, my mom said it was supposed to bring good luck. Cale’s wedding band was the band his mom gave his dad when they got married and now has been passed on to Cale. The initials and wedding dates are engraved on the inside. Our officiant, was Cale’s brother in law. I think it’s always nice to have someone personal to do that. All these special touches, though minimal, they add sentiment to the day and it made it that much more special and meaningful to both of us.
Hire a planner! Stephanie and Keestone Events was a huge part of why the weekend went as well as it did. Nothing brings more peace than knowing that someone else is handling all the little details. Months leading up will naturally bring stress, and having a sounding board to bounce all your crazy thoughts and concerns off of is extremely valuable. I would also say, go with your gut when planning. There are so many options these days, try to stay true to what really matters to you and not what matters to others. It’s your wedding! The fact that I am able to look back with zero regrets and have a beautiful memory of that day is priceless.
