Meet our featured couple, Becca and Alex! Stephanie was the lead Dallas wedding planner for Becca and Alex’s wedding at Chapel Ana Villa in The Colony in the spring of 2022. Hallie also helped execute this beautiful wedding!
Becca knew from the beginning that she wanted an evening full of flowers, dancing, and great food! Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe brought Becca’s vision of having “flowers everywhere” to life. They designed a beautiful arch of florals and greenery against the glass windows, behind the altar and it was breath taking! It was important to Becca that all the flowers were donated to nursing homes, and Lizzie Bees made sure to follow through with their promise. What a unique and special surprise for the residents and staff!
The couple opted for a short ceremony to allow their guests to flow right into cocktail hour and the reception. Guests were entertained all night long by the band, Manhattan. One of the most memorable parts of the night was when Becca and Alex got on stage with the band and serenaded their guests with the song, “Mr. Brightside”!
Congratulations Becca + Alex!
We both went to SMU and met at a bar when I was a junior and he was a senior. We were both from the area (Plano and Prosper,) and we are convinced we had to have seen each other in mutual stomping grounds growing up. It’s one of those looking in the background of pictures type of things.
We wanted a quick ceremony so we could start the celebration with all thee people we love right away. We did know right away that we wanted a band since we are always on the dance floor at weddings. I also wanted flowers everywhere and we were so grateful to have the genius Lizzie Bee’s Flower Shoppe create the most stunning arrangements. They were able to repurpose arrangements from the ceremony for the reception, and they donated the flowers after the wedding!
It’s so hard to narrow it down, so we are going with three moments that stand out. One was after the ceremony. We felt so relaxed; not because there were any doubts about the ceremony but because we could finally spend time with each other our guests. Another was when the band played “Mr. Brightside.” It’s a very popular song amongst our friends (and in general,) and we were able to sing it on the stage with everyone belting along. Finally, the private dance at the end. It was such a perfect moment.
I put my grandpas wedding ring and my nana’s necklace from her prom (they went together) on my flowers. They were madly in love, and it felt really special to have that reminder with me. My sister also did the same thing in her ceremony. We are so grateful to our amazing photographer, Kassie Moore, and our videographers from Turquoise Video Productions for capturing everything for us.
1. GET A PLANNER! This is in all caps for a reason. They are magic and helped relieve so much stress. 2. Things won’t always go perfectly; focus on your spouse and it all melts away. 3. Take a second to look around during the reception. You’re surrounded by so many people that you love and who love you. It’s rare they’re all in a room together.
The couple left Stephanie and Hallie a glowing review:
“I was lucky enough to work with Stephanie throughout the process and Hallie in the last month or so before the wedding, and they are phenomenal! They were incredibly supportive throughout the process, super sweet, and just plain good at what they do. We are so grateful to them for helping to make our day run smoothly and would recommend them in a heartbeat.”
