Sarah, the owner of Keestone Events, and one of our lead Dallas wedding planners, planned this minimal shoot. I’ve slowly been applying aspects of minimalism into certain parts of my life á la Marie Kondo style. Having moved fifteen times (we are in the Witness Protection Program. Kidding. It was largely due to my father’s job), I’d like to think that I’m rather good at purging. I used to be able to fit everything I owned into my trusty old Camry – the only piece of furniture I owned was my computer chair – but ever since buying a home with A, our possessions have increased so much!

It’s been therapeutic to donate all the unnecessary items to say the least! I’ve noticed that appreciation of the minimal has been making its way into my designs for weddings and styled shoots. This shoot we did for the Brides of North Texas is something I have been dreaming of doing in a real wedding for a while now. It’s easy to continuously add to a design, but I’ve found that the biggest difficulty is usually curating.

When you eliminate, the few details showcased need to have a purpose and make sense. It’s also harder to hide as there literally is nowhere to hide!
