A low-key yet refined wedding at The Nasher Sculpture Center:
I am so pleased to share D+M’s beautiful wedding with you all. This wedding has also been featured in the most recent print issue of The Knot magazine! A bit more about the couple and their wedding below:
Devon and Martin grew up on opposite sides on the world – she in Dallas, while he is from Germany. They met when they were eighteen, and a relationship gradually evolved from there. Eventually, both found themselves in California, and that’s where they were while Kristen was helping plan their wedding in Dallas. We get quite a few out-of-state (and some out of the country) couples and it’s always great to finally meet in person! Read more about their day from Kristin, who was the lead planner:
When I sat down with Devon and Martin to go over a preliminary timeline for their wedding, I knew this was going to be a fun one! Their chemistry and how they played off of one another is one of those things I love to see in our couples. Their wedding was at the gorgeous Nasher Sculpture Center. Every time we do a wedding there, I am reminded of how incredible the venue and staff are. In the weeks leading up to Devon and Martin’s outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, we had received record rainfall in Dallas… needless to say we were a bit concerned the weather would not cooperate to make their vision into a reality. The day of, the rain kept getting pushed out to later and later in the day so we made the call to set up outside! Their ceremony was set up in front of the Serra and provided a powerful backdrop to start off this power couples’ marriage. Through cocktail hour, guests mingled outside enjoying Wolfgang Puck catering and just after Devon and Martin greeted the guests and mentioned being thankful for there not being rain, it started to sprinkle. Guests moved to their tables under the trees and stayed dry while they started dinner. As dinner was wrapping up, the forecast showed rain was going to get heavy. We made the decision to move everyone inside for toasts, which ended up being a sweet, intimate way to hear the words of Devon’s dad, Martin’s dad, and Devon’s friend. The rain passed and we move back out for everyone to dance under the stars and boy did they dance! Devon and Martin threw quite the party!
